Day 10:Bahamas Cruise / Miami, Florida

Miami’s history is a vibrant tapestry, from its 1896 incorporation as a small citrus-growing town to its evolution into the “Cruise Capital of the World.” Often called the “Magic City” because of its rapid post-war growth, it is a global hub of Latin American culture. Before boarding the MSC Seaside, you can explore the Art Deco Historic District in South Beach, home to the world’s largest collection of 1930s architecture. A visit to Little Havana’s Calle Ochoa offers a taste of the city’s deep Cuban roots, featuring hand-rolled cigars and the rhythmic sound of dominoes in Maximo Gomez Park.

Day 11:Nassau, Bahamas

Nassau has a swashbuckling past as the 18th-century “Pirate Republic,” once home to legendary outlaws like Blackbeard. Today, the city is defined by its pink colonial buildings and bustling harbor. You can climb the Queen’s Staircase, 66 steps hand-carved out of solid limestone by enslaved people in the late 1700s to provide an escape route from Fort Fincastle. For a local experience, visit the Gray Cliff Chocolatier located in a historic 1740s mansion or wander the Straw Market for authentic Bahamian woodcarvings and hand-woven baskets, a tradition that has thrived in the city center for decades.

Day 12: Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve

Ocean Cay is a testament to environmental restoration, once a derelict industrial site used for sand excavation and now a thriving marine sanctuary. MSC Cruises transformed this “industrial wasteland” by removing 1,500 tons of scrap metal and planting 75,000 native shrubs. The island features eight pristine beaches and a 100-foot-tall Lighthouse that hosts a spectacular LED light show at night. You can snorkel in the protected waters to see newly established coral colonies or visit the MSC Foundation center to learn about their coral reef restoration efforts, making it a perfect blend of luxury and conservation.

Day 13:At Sea

A day at sea on the MSC Seaside is the best time to experience its revolutionary design, which focuses on connecting guests with the ocean. You can brave the Forest Aqua venture Park, one of the most interactive water parks at sea, or walk the Glass Skywalk 131 feet above the waves for a stomach-flipping view. For relaxation, the MSC Aurea Spa offers Balinese-inspired treatments. In the evening, the Metropolitan Theatre hosts Broadway-style productions, while the ship’s unique Waterfront Promenade allows you to dine alfresco while watching the sunset over the Atlantic.

Day 14:Miami, Florida

Returning to Miami offers a chance to explore the city’s mainland treasures. Visit the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, a stunning Italian Renaissance-style villa built in 1916 that showcases the city’s early 20th-century opulence. If you prefer modern culture, the Wynwood Walls offer an outdoor gallery of world-class street art. As you prepare for the second leg of your voyage, take a walk through Bayfront Park to see the city’s maritime monuments or enjoy a fresh seafood lunch at Bayside Marketplace, where the energy of the city’s international port and the Caribbean-bound ships is always on full display.

Day 15:Nassau, Bahamas

Your second visit to Nassau allows you to venture beyond the city center to Blue Lagoon Island, a private oasis with a history of hosting celebrities like Marilyn Monroe. Alternatively, visit Fort Charlotte, the largest fort in the Bahamas, which features a moat, drawbridge, and dark underground dungeons used during the Napoleonic Wars. For those who enjoy local flavors, a visit to John Watlings Distillery at the historic Buena Vista Estate offers a look at traditional rum-making in a building dating back to 1789. Its the perfect spot to toast the island’s seafaring heritage.

Day 16:Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve

Returning to Ocean Cay gives you the opportunity to experience the island’s sunset and evening activities. While your first visit may have been about snorkeling and sunbathing, use today for a sunset champagne cruise or a nighttime paddleboarding session with glow-in-the-dark gear. Historically, the surrounding waters are part of the Bimini chain, famous for its association with Ernest Hemingway and myths of the “Lost City of Atlantis.” End your day at the Lighthouse Bar, where live music and the rhythm of the waves provide a tranquil, natural finale to your Bahamian expedition.

Day 17:Miami, Florida

Your journey concludes back in Miami. Before heading home, consider a visit to the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, which features a three-level aquarium and a world-class planetarium overlooking the port. Alternatively, a final breakfast in Coral Gables allows you to see the “City Beautiful,” famous for its 1920s Mediterranean Revival architecture and the historic Venetian Pool. As you disembark the MSC Seaside, you leave with a wealth of knowledge about the pirate legends of Nassau, the conservation success of Ocean Cay, and the vibrant, multicultural soul of Miami.
